VTECHLINK Featured in EIA's First Ever Convergence Technology Demonstration
Unique Features of 1-Stop Convergence Info Source Highlights the Highly Relevant and Valuable Services Offered by VTECHLINK to the Convergence Industry
Bethesda, Maryland, April 9, 1999 - Consumer Electronics Manufacturers Association [CEMA], a sector of the Electronics Industry Alliance [EIA], set up its first ever convergence technology demonstration at the EIA-CEMA Spring Conference in Washington, DC. VTECHLINK was the only Web-based information product highlighted at this demonstration by CEMA. EIA/CEMA is the premier industry association whose members are the leading companies involved in communications, consumer electronics, information technology and integrated home systems industries.
VTECHLINK provides targeted links to the Web sites of industry companies, organizations, resources and regulatory agencies, plus direct links to specific places at these sites, such as News, Products, Services, Financial, etc. In addition, it provides clear reporting of key industry developments, report archives searchable via custom search engine for convenient research, weekly email news summary, information on industry conferences and Premium Gold services for customized in-depth research.
The demonstration was set up by CEMA to highlight selected new products that effectively combined technologies from multiple sectors to provide valuable services to the consumers and businesses. Attendees at this demonstration included several leading consumer electronics, computing and communications product manufacturers, along with political leaders and government officials.
VTECHLINK [www.vtechlink.com], the highly successful Web-based information resource, demonstrated the depth and the tight focus of its services for the convergence industry companies through terminals with live connection to the Internet at this forum. The services highlighted included targeted industry links, authoritative reporting, custom search engine, etc - in short, all of the resources industry players need to stay on top of the multiple industries converging on the consumer marketplace.
"We were simply overwhelmed by the interest our product generated at this demonstration," said P. S. (Vish) Vishwanath, Principal Director of VTECHLINK. "Several attendees from industry companies, consultants and government officials repeatedly told us that VTECHLINK fills a critical information void they currently face to cut through the confusion to get at the useful information critical to them. In fact, many of them wanted to sign up for the service at this forum itself," he added.
The select list of companies invited to demonstrate at this forum included other leading companies such as AMX/Phast, California Audio labs, Digital Harmony, Gateway/Destination TV, Home Automated Living, Intel, Leviton, Olympus America, Replay Networks, Samsung, Sharp, TiVo and Zenith.
